This gem-like sculpture, 3D generated, is adorned with precious metals through the process of electroplating. The artefact-sculpture stands as tangible evidence of stratified hypothetic histories, situating itself in an ambiguous timeframe that merges the past and the future. Representing a synthetic, idealised nature, the work celebrates its delicate but invaluable essence, in the form of a votive sculpture or a treasure from a futuristic civilisation.

Seaward’s work is an exquisitely post-modern pastiche of imaginary archeological finds pointing to the shifts between digital and natural realms. This tendency is testified by his use of noble archetypical metals combined with advanced 3D printing technology and synthetic materials.

Seaward's practice draws inspiration from a diverse range of cultures, juxtaposing everyday materials with hi-tech manufactured components and objects of historical import. Through this amalgamation, he explores concepts of authorship, the nature of commodities, and notions of time and permanence.
