The Networker explores the relation we have with the natural world. The shelving system is inspired by the intricate design of a spider’s web – a structure spun from the spider’s own organic material and used as an extension of its sensory engagement with its environment. This concept finds a parallel in human culture where we store knowledge in spoken, written, and now digital forms, creating a network of information exchange.

The man with a prosthetic arm symbolises humanity's reliance on tools to extend our abilities, while also being a reminder of our physical vulnerability and impermanence. The design of the shelf evokes modernist, grid-based painting and abstraction, referencing technological developments and human creativity. The figure in the painting, trapped behind the shelf, conveys a sense of being confined or imprisoned by the very ideas and systems we have created.
