Part of a series of studies produced by Fuller as a regular exercise, repeating forms, patterns and motifs. The deep red of this particualr painting sets it apart from much of her oeuvre, however it echos a form used in recent larger paintings; splitting and splicing the composition. The subject of glistening cherries was inspired by Fullers growing interest in horticulture - a seeming counterpoint to the urban focus of Corporate Horrors - and yet she exercises control in this also, cross-pollinating and splicing varieties, even growing cherries in an artificial environment within her studio.
