Drawing on contemporary feminist discourses reclaiming the figure of the witch, this painting depicts a trio of scenes united by the compositional device of a pink-limbed tree. In Honour of Witches tells a story of a magical cross-species romantic encounter resulting in hybrid offspring, and eventually resulting in a witch-mother transporting three children on her broomstick. The work combines a celebration of witchy feminist magic with the realities of childrearing for creative women.
