The drawing A dark entry is inspired by the idea that when people become absorbed in the mundanity of their routine, they transform into creatures as if they were simply driven by instinct. Taylor reflects on how in our daily lives we are constrained by repetitive tasks, often relegated to the same locales, almost on autopilot. In this process we lose our identity and sense of self, provoking, like in the drawing, the dissolution of the human form and body. The figure in the drawing appears dark and gloomy, transforming into an octopus-like two-headed creature with jaws.
