In Glen Pudvine’s painting Love Language, we encounter a layering of imagery drawn from the artist's own childhood. Against the Sun-drenched wall of his mother's garage, rendered with oil paint and sand on linen, rests the tortoise that his father bought for his mother, which Glen now sees as one of the only romantic gestures he can remember from his childhood between his parents, and inset into this tortoise's shell we see Ross and Rachel - from the 90’s sitcom friends - about to share their first kiss, this being glens earliest and most significant memory of a romantic moment on screen.
