In this oil and beeswax painting, the artist observes the grid pattern in the architecture of concrete blocks from Eastern Europe, where Fuller is originally from, reimagined in a British setting. The recurring theme of the grid is also present in the miniature drawings of the building’s windows that Fuller has carved onto the thick layer of oil and beeswax mixture. The fascination for the brutalist architecture of office buildings has been explored by the artist in a dedicated Instagram account titled "Corporate Horrors". Workplace architecture for Fuller is indeed where sci-fi and dystopian narratives meet our contemporary life. Fuller’s contemplation of office architecture reflects on skyscrapers and brutalist concrete buildings as a metaphor, symbolising the pursuit of success and displays of power.
