Will Nash’s column is a puzzle of perspective. Stacked towards the sky, its highly polished mirrored surfaces slice and flip all aspects of the surroundings, operating to disorientate and enchant. As the viewer moves, one work emerges as many, becoming filmic as each triangular segment becomes a flickering screen capturing movements, textures and qualities of light that change with the rhythms of days or seasons. There is wonder and awe in this myriad of tiny shifts that forces us to linger longer.

Multidisciplinary artist and sculptor Will Nash’s practice ranges from large scale outdoor public works to smaller gallery or domestic works. His bold sculptures are inspired by the geometry of the natural world, and the examination of his place in it. The sculptures are accessible and often playful; where sequences of shapes, lines or angles encourage the viewer to explore the form, following its lines to make sense of it.

Cut Cube Column (2023) is made from highly polished marine grade stainless steel and constructed in sections.

Nash was born in Bangor, North Wales, in 1973. He studied Multi Media Fine Art at Middlesex University (1994-1997), and gained an MA in Design by Project from the University of Brighton (2004-2006). Nash has exhibited regularly in both solo and group shows since 2001, and now lives and now works in Lewes, East Sussex.
