Leaning into the active fabrication of life, informed by studies in microbiology and astrobiology, about the possibility for molecules beyond DNA for genetic codification in alien planets. Similarly, contemporary synthetic biology has theorised about the dangers of “mirror life”, life whose building blocks are of the opposite chirality (inverse shape), and thus undetectable to all life on Earth. What we consider to be life, the limit to what is living, what can desire and act, has been limited to a framework of human-centrism, unable to understand the existence of radically different others. The work integrates these views by producing a machinic hybrid between biological units, industrial serialisation, drawing actively from science fiction; it creates new narratives about life, reckoning its infinite mutability, potentiality, and ultimately becoming.
