A attacking P is a small mohair embroidered piece which draws inspiration from Szakats’s reading of Heinrich von Kleist's "Penthesilea," sparking a fascination with the author's reinterpretation of Greek mythology. Intrigued by the juxtaposition of hard stone and soft wool, she had longed to incorporate images of stone carvings into her work. Combining these interests, she cropped a larger image depicting a battle between the Amazons and the Greeks, focusing on the conflict between Penthesilea and Achilles. Using found AI-generated imagery that she collects over time, the artist embroiders the image with soft mohair and brushes the surface to release the fibres characteristic of this particular type of wool, resulting in a blurred appearance. Presenting a blend of contemporary and traditional artistic forms, her creations prompt us to reflect on the seamless integration of contemporary and traditional components and the progression of art along with its methodologies. She portrays allegorical engagements with human nature, reminiscent of the mediaeval tapestry and textile tradition. In this narrative, birds, dogs, and plant life bear the brunt of the storytelling movement within the textile, offering a unique fusion of modern and traditional artistic expressions.
