Katrin Hanusch
Katrin Hanusch is a multidisciplinary artist working in sculpture, installation, print and drawing with a deep and ongoing conversation with materials and processes. Motifs taken from the everyday engage with the human condition in a series of critical investigations bringing together poetics, humour and spirituality. Her often site-responsive works oscillate around ideas of touch/absence/presence and the long-term impact of our doings.

Katrin Hanusch (b. 1978 Kulmbach, Germany) studied in London at the Royal College of Art and in Halle, Germany at the University of Art and Design Burg Giebichenstein. She co-founded dieschoenestadt, an artist-run gallery funded by the Art Council Saxony-Anhalt. Hanusch has been Foundry Fellow at Chelsea College of Arts and artist in residence at the Alice Boner Institute in Varanasi, India awarded by the Shelagh Cluett Trust, London. Other residencies include: TOMBOLO 19, Lay of the Land; Pangaea Sculptors’ Centre/PARC, Spain; Scottish Sculpture Workshop; Edinburgh Sculpture Workshop. Hanusch’s work has been exhibited at Danielle Arnaud, London; Ram Chhatpar Shilp Nyas, Varanasi, India; Tintype, London; Picnic Gallery, London; Art Council Saxony-Anhalt, Halle/Germany; APT Gallery, London; Coleman Project Space, London; Generator Projects, Dundee; BALTIC 39, Newcastle; Snehta, Athens; FIVE YEARS, London; Kunsthal Charlottenborg, Copenhagen; Goethe Institut Hanoi, Vietnam. Katrin currently lives and works in London.
