LEO FITZMAURICE

Leo Fitzmaurice works across a range of media interrupting and making visible the familiar and the everyday. He has exhibited at The Sunday Painter, London; Seventeen Gallery, London; Tanya Leighton Galley, Berlin; and Dodge NY. Solo shows have been held at New Art Gallery Walsall, and Firstsite, Colchester. He made a new work Litter for Frieze Sculpture Park, London that is currently installed at Yorkshire Sculpture Park. 

“By throwing up one everyday observation it kind of undermines our understanding of everything else around us. It kind of refreshes the world in some way.” 

Leo Fitzmaurice (b. 1963, Newport, Shropshire, England) studied at Liverpool Art School (1986-1989) and MA Fine Art at Manchester Metropolitan University (1990-1992).
